Inclusive Leadership Series

The Faculty Advancement Network offers its Inclusive Leadership Series for all members of our consortium. Our 2023-24 schedule includes a range of discussions, each hosted by a FAN university and aligned with our shared mission to advance diversity and inclusion in the American professoriate.

January 23, 2024: 12:00pm ET / 9:00am PT
The Prepared Faculty Leader: A Conversation with John Jackson and Erika James (hosted by the University of Pennsylvania)
This session features University of Pennsylvania Provost John L. Jackson, Jr. in conversation with Erika H. James, Dean of the Wharton School, about advice for faculty in leadership roles.

June 2024:
Inclusive & Culturally Aware Mentoring (hosted by Cornell University)
In this session, participants are introduced to various mentoring models to support faculty throughout their career stages. The workshop focuses on inclusive and culturally- affirming practices. Participants fill out a presurvey which asks them about their experiences as mentors and mentees and are offered an opportunity to share their views and expectations around faculty mentoring. Participants work through scenarios that provide them with tools to engage in effective mentoring. (More details coming soon.)
