Institute on Inquiry, Equity & Leadership

Institute Kickoff

Yale University

September 29, 2022 to October 1, 2022

Our in-person kickoff retreat convened teams across the Ivy+ network, established group norms, and introduced fundamentals of equity-minded leadership for the faculty leader. FAN members Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, MIT, Princeton, UChicago, UPenn and Yale sent delegations of “first generation equity leaders” to hear from experts and higher education leaders about laying the foundation for change. This program launched the yearlong Institute on Inquiry, Equity and Leadership in the Academic Department.

My ‘pit crew’ is amazing and I already [heart] them. Also: The whole workshop was AMAZING, thank you!

What Did You Mean By That?

It was interactive, practical, concrete ideas that we can implement. - Meeting in person was VERY valuable.
Thank you for assembling such a phenomenal group of academic leaders (both participants and attendees). I made many new colleagues and potential friends.

Just so impressed by the thoughtful and brilliant people gathered here. Great to have administrative leaders from WPI, Howard and Stony Brook.
It was such a great opportunity to talk to fellow chairs—this was the highlight. The final session [with presidents and provosts] was excellent.
